Evans Expected to Play Week 1

49ers wide receiver Mike Evans, sidelined with a groin injury, expects to be ready for the Week 1 matchup against the Rams in Melbourne, Australia, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Evans has not practiced much in training camp due to nagging injuries, including a quad strain and now a groin injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the team expects Evans back at practice next week.

Fowler described the injury as "minor," noting Evans' positive outlook for Week 1. Several other 49ers players, including defensive end Nick Bosa and wide receiver Jacob Cowing, are also expected to return to practice next week. afnews.co.za
