This is Andersen's first position since leaving Chinese club Yunnan Yukun in 2025. The 63-year-old from Fredrikstad has an extensive coaching record in Asia, having managed North Korea from 2016-2018 and Hong Kong from 2021-2024. The appointment comes amid ongoing civil conflict in Myanmar, where over 100,000 people have been killed since the military seized power in 2021.
