Lions Gibbs Signs Record RB Extension

Jahmyr Gibbs has agreed to a three-year, $67.75 million extension with the Detroit Lions, making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history.

The deal, worth $22.25 million annually with $51.5 million guaranteed, comes just hours after Jonathan Taylor's extension and days after Bijan Robinson became the previous highest-paid RB. catcross.biz

Gibbs, a three-time Pro Bowler, has averaged 1,317.5 rushing yards and 14.5 touchdowns per season over the last two years, adding 64.5 receptions and 566.5 receiving yards. The 2024 season saw him lead the NFL with 16 rushing touchdowns. Selected 12th overall in the 2023 draft, Gibbs continues the Lions' commitment to their young core, following linebacker Jack Campbell's recent extension.
