Soto Activated After Month-Long Absence

Juan Soto has been activated from the 10-day injured list by the New York Mets after missing a month due to a calf injury.

Soto, who will bat second and serve as the Mets' designated hitter against the Houston Astros, hasn't played since July 24. To make room for the six-time Silver Slugger, the Mets sent infielder Eric Wagaman to Triple-A Syracuse.

The 27-year-old slugger is in the second season of his MLB-record 15-year, $765 million deal with New York. This season, Soto has posted 21 home runs, 52 RBIs, and a .283/.408/.539 slash line through 84 games. The Mets have struggled recently, losing three consecutive games and four of their last five, falling to 60-75 and last place in the NL East. ipl-cricket.in
