Welsh FA Withdraws Support for Infantino

The Welsh Football Association announced on Monday, August 3, that it is withdrawing its support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino in his bid for re-election. The move comes days after FIFA controversially decided to open up to external investors.

The Welsh FA stated in a communique that "failures in terms of good governance, processes, and leadership" have made it impossible for them to continue supporting Infantino. "Not putting the interest of football first is a failure we cannot accept," added the Welsh association.
