South Bay Lakers recap: G League Lakers race past Legends

After getting eight full days off since their last game, the South Bay Lakers headed to Comerica Center in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex to take on the Texas Legends on Friday. They're looking to start stacking up wins in bunches as the push for the G League postseason nears.

South Bay put up 37 points in the first quarter and was ahead 66-45 at halftime. The team never let up, as it led by as many as 26 points in the fourth quarter and ended up winning by a final score of 127-105. It was plus-10 in rebounds, plus-seven in fast-break points and shot 51.1% from the field while holding Texas to just 37.7% field-goal shooting.

Drew Timme led the way for the Lakers with 25 points on 11-of-20 shooting, eight rebounds and four assists. Adou Thiero, a rookie forward who was taken in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft, made all but one of his eight shot attempts and ended up with 19 points and seven rebounds. Four men off the bench — Malik Williams, Arthur Kaluma, Anton Watson and Augustas Marčiulionis — scored in double figures.

Bronny James played 27 minutes in this game and shot 5-of-14 from the field. He finished with 13 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks.

This win gave South Bay a 12-8 record, which puts it in fifth place in the Western Conference.
