Wycombe Wanderers 3-1 Stevenage

League One

Wycombe Wanderers 3 - 1 Stevenage FT

Nathan Lowe scored five minutes into his Wycombe debut as Wanderers defeated promotion-pushing Stevenage at Adams Park.

The Chairboys took the lead on 15 minutes thanks to a brilliant finish from Cauley Woodrow.

The on-loan Luton man latched onto a brilliant pass from Dan Harvie. He held his run and after letting the ball bounce once, he decided to lob Filip Marschall in the Boro goal.

Wanderers continued to dominate and should have doubled their lead four minutes later when Jamie Mullins was denied by the goalkeeper.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international had another chance to increase Wycombe's lead but he dragged his shot wide after space had opened up 20 yards out.

Stevenage improved as the game went on. Matt Phillips forced Will Norris into a good save while Daniel Phillips was inches away from an equaliser.

The leveller eventually came on 48 minutes when Jamie Reid tapped home from two yards after Harvey White's free-kick hit the post.

But on-loan Stoke forward Lowe, who came on as a second-half substitute for Woodrow, managed to shrug off Dan Sweeney before placing the ball home.

Junior Quitirna then wrapped up the win with a stunning 20-yard finish in the seventh of eight added minutes.
