Bolton Wanderers 2-2 Blackpool

League One

Bolton Wanderers 2 - 2 Blackpool FT

Substitute Mason Burstow scored an 85th-minute equaliser to earn Bolton a League One draw against Blackpool and deny former boss Ian Evatt victory on his first return to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

For the second time in five days the Hull loanee salvaged a point for promotion-chasing Wanderers, after a stoppage-time leveller at Reading in midweek.

Bolton, who stay third, led when skipper Eoin Toal headed home former Tangerine winger Rob Apter's corner after 66 minutes.

But Blackpool threatened to win at Bolton for the first time since 1986 with two goals in five minutes.

Hayden Coulson levelled after 73 minutes before substitute George Honeyman punished Bolton goalkeeper Jack Bonham's mistake with his first goal since the opening day of the season.

Evatt, sacked as Wanderers boss in January 2025, was five minutes away from a famous win until Burstow came to his old club's rescue by heading in fellow substitute Thierry Gale's cross.

In a thrilling finale Pool's leading marksman Ashley Fletcher hit a post while Gale sent a right-foot shot fractionally wide at the other end.
