Lecce 0-2 Inter Milan – Match-Winning Duo Shine As Argentina Superstar’s Injury Reveals Flaws In Attack

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Federico Dimarco were the saviours of Inter Milan’s 2-0 victory at Lecce.

According to Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, their ratings painted a picture of a Nerazzurri side that ground out a necessary win.

Meanwhile, it exposed some vulnerabilities that Lautaro Martinez’s absence makes harder to paper over.

Only Mkhitaryan, Dimarco and Chivu earned a 7 from the Turin-based outlet.

Dimarco picked up his 15th assist of the season, just one short of the all-time record, and finished the match wearing the captain’s armband.

“He puts his sublime left foot on both goals and ends the game as the image of the Nerazzurri right now,” Tuttosport wrote.

Mkhitaryan’s goal was described as “the Armenian’s roar that launches Inter towards the escape.”

Bisseck, Akanji, Frattesi, Zielinski and Esposito all earned 6.5s, with Tuttosport noting the young striker’s physical contribution.

“He doesn’t score but battles and creates dangerous situations that are a pleasure to watch.”

Sommer, Bastoni and Luis Henrique received 6s.

The criticism was pointed, however.

Thuram and Bonny both received 5.5, with the Frenchman described as inconsistent: “flashing like a brake light, alternating current.”

Sucic matched that score for another tepid display, while De Vrij and Diouf also fell below the 6 mark.

The overall picture suggests that without Lautaro, Inter’s attack still lacks the reliability needed to win games comfortably.
