Out of the aforementioned quintet, the likeliest to stay is Virgil van Dijk. Centre-backs have a longer shelf life and a longer peak.

Van Dijk is still going strong even though he's now approaching 35-years-old. Liverpool could easily extend his contract for a further year or two beyond 2027.

But while Van Dijk is the likeliest to stay, the likeliest to leave is Andy Robertson.

He was close to leaving the club in the January transfer window. Tottenham's offer did make Richard Hughes and co. ponder at the very least.

Ultimately, injuries to further key players meant Liverpool did not pursue the move. However, the fact that they did consider selling him was a massive hint about where their intentions lie when it comes to his contract extension.

Robertson's deal expires at the end of the season and it's now looking very unlikely that he will stay at the club beyond then.
