Real Madrid, Barcelona among top clubs eyeing 22-year-old German defender – report

Real Madrid spent heavily on a new left-back last summer, signing Alvaro Carreras from SL Benfica in a deal worth €50 million.

However, there could be a possibility that they look to strengthen the position again this year, with Fran Garcia expected to leave in search of game time, while Ferland Mendy does not appear to have a future at the club either.

Nathaniel Brown emerges as a target

As such, BILD (h/t SPORT) reports that Real Madrid one of the elite European clubs keeping track of Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown.

The 22-year-old defender has been a revelation in the Bundesliga this season, impressing with his attacking capabilities. His statistics underline his impact: 31 appearances this season, six assists and three goals, two of them in his last three matches.

A lot of top teams have taken note of his performances, with Real Madrid keeping an eye on his progress at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos’ bitter rivals FC Barcelona are also admirers, with Hansi Flick keen on his signing.

The report further states that Manchester City and Liverpool have also made contact with his representatives and are in a good position to make a move. Arsenal, too, are closely tracking the left-back.

Given the increasing interest from heavyweights across Europe, Eintracht Frankfurt are expected to demand a transfer fee of around €65 million for their ace left-back.

It now remains to be seen whether Real Madrid decide to act on their interest in Brown in the summer transfer window.
