Raiders All-Pro trade candidate could land with Cowboys, Eagles, Bills or Seahawks originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
All eyes are on the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, and for multiple reasons.
Not only do the Raiders have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, which they are expected to use on Fernando Mendoza, they may also have the top trade target of the entire offseason.
That possible trade target is star edge rusher Maxx Crosby, who might be thinking about leaving Las Vegas in 2026.
When taking everything into account, SportsGrid's Paul Connor believes Crosby is a legitimate trade candidate this offseason. Adding to that, Connor thinks Crosby is the prize of the 2026 offseason trade market.
"The Raiders are in full rebuild mode after a disastrous 3-14 finish in 2025. With Las Vegas holding the No. 1 overall pick and looking to reset its cap, Maxx Crosby is the offseason’s premier trade chip," Connor wrote.
Crosby became disgruntled with the Raiders near the end of last season after they shut him down for the final few games against his will because of a knee injury Crosby believed he could play through.
That certainly isn't the main reason why Crosby is unhappy, though. The five-time Pro Bowler's frustrations with the franchise have been known for years as Las Vegas has struggled to find its footing amid dysfunction and a lot of losing.
If Crosby does hit the trade block, the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks are likely to have interest.
The Bills struck out with Joey Bosa last season and now need a new running mate for Greg Rousseau as the team gears up to make a run at the Super Bowl.
Buffalo would have a tough time squeezing in Crosby's contract, but general manager Brandon Beane can likely find a way to make it work.
In Dallas, the production lost from the Micah Parsons trade hasn't been replaced and the Cowboys need help all over their defense.
Adding Crosby would give Dallas the alpha edge rusher it needs, along with a strong locker room leader and culture booster.
The Eagles have to decide what to do with Jaelan Phillips, who was acquired via trade before last year's deadline. If Phillips is re-signed, the Eagles' need at edge rusher isn't as dire, but we wouldn't rule out general manager Howie Roseman going after Crosby even if Phillips returns.
Last but not least, we have the Seahawks, who already sport an elite defense and would have an embarrassment of riches should they acquire Crosby, who would undoubtedly improve Seattle's chances of repeating as Super Bowl champs.
Adding Crosby might seem like overkill, but Seattle does need a true No. 1 edge rusher and general manager John Schneider is armed with a ton of cap space and can afford to trade away draft picks with a young, loaded roster.
