No. 15 Rams baseball claims another series win as young roster continues to grow together

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Rams entered this new season with having graduated 16 Seniors. Four freshman start for the fellas and are contributing in big ways including another series win.

The Rams through 14 games this year are taking more walks and stealing more bases than last years team through 14, two huge aspects to this scheme here at ASU. Now while the hits are a tad less than last year’s with a higher strikeout number, you can see the team growing in real time as they continue to work on chemistry and expectations given to them week in and week out.

ASU’s freshman Tate Greene was the hero of game four of the Rams series vs Oklahoma Christian with his two run shot to go ahead in game four and take the win. Payton Bush another freshman on the roster had a monster weekend, six hits, six runs scored, 6 rbi’s and drew five walks. And Gam Jones, who we will hear from next week also showing huge growth with his six walks, six runs and three stolen bases over the weekend.

This Rams bunch is continuing to grow as they lean on the leadership of their returning vets, but they will need consistency and a full buy in from the younger guys if they want to make a big push this season.
