Braves Extend Chris Sale Through 2027 ($27M)

The Atlanta Braves have extended ace Chris Sale through the 2027 season, agreeing to a one-year, $27 million deal that includes a $30 million club option for 2028.

The deal replaces Sale's previous $22 million salary and keeps the nine-time All-Star in Atlanta ahead of free agency. Sale, 36, is coming off a 2024 season where he won the NL Cy Young Award.

Since joining the Braves in a 2024 trade from the Red Sox, the left-hander has accumulated 10.0 fWAR in 303.1 innings, anchoring a rotation that has faced numerous injuries.
