Carrick Stun Leaders As Coleraine Close Gap

League leaders Larne suffered a 3-2 defeat to Carrick Rangers, while Coleraine beat Ballymena United to close the gap at the top of the Irish Premiership to just two points.

Carrick Rangers took a commanding 3-0 lead through goals from Danny Gibson, Joe Crowe, and Paul Heatley before halftime at Inver Park. Larne responded with Tiarnan O'Connor and Dan Bent finding the net, but couldn't complete a dramatic comeback.

Meanwhile, at Coleraine Showgrounds, Will Patching's first-half goal gave Coleraine a 1-0 victory against Ballymena United, allowing them to close the gap to league leaders Larne to just two points with a game in hand.
