Evans Predicted to Join Commanders in 2026

According to Sports Illustrated, legendary wide receiver Mike Evans is predicted to leave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and join the Washington Commanders for the 2026-2027 NFL season.

Evans, a six-time Pro Bowler and Texas A&M legend, would be making his first career move from Tampa Bay after being selected 7th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. His 11 consecutive 1,000+ yard receiving seasons ended this campaign due to injuries including a hamstring issue, concussion, and broken collarbone.

The Commanders, looking to build around quarterback Jayden Daniels, have the salary cap space to make such a move. Washington's offense ranked 24th in the league with 184.1 passing yards per game last season. Evans joins a list of potential suitors that also includes the Bills, Ravens, Texans, Chiefs, and 49ers as he seeks another Super Bowl ring before retirement.
