McMorris Falls Short, Finishes Eighth in Olympic Slopestyle

Mark McMorris finished eighth in the men’s snowboard slopestyle final at Milano Cortina 2026, missing the podium for the fourth straight Games. His teammate Cameron Spalding came in tenth.

Mark McMorris, 32, fell in two of three attempts and suffered a concussion, pelvic bone bruising and an abdominal strain during a big‑air training crash on Feb. 4. He was cleared to compete in slopestyle after missing the big‑air event. The 25‑time Winter X Games medallist finished third in qualifying but could not reach the podium. Cameron Spalding, 20, the 2024‑25 World Cup champion, finished tenth in the 12‑man final. Su Yiming of China won gold, Taiga Hasegawa took silver and Jake Canter earned bronze.
