Rondale Moore, the former Purdue wide‑receiver and 2021 NFL draft pick, was found dead in New Albany, Indiana, on Feb. 21, 2026. Police say the 25‑year‑old died from a suspected self‑inflicted gunshot wound. The death came exactly ten years after Moore posted a tweet to his profile that read, "Note to self: Be patient."
Moore grew up in New Albany, played high‑school basketball for Trinity High, and was a key player on the 2016 state‑champion team. He earned All‑American honors at Purdue in 2018, won the Paul Hornung Award, and was selected by the Phoenix Cardinals in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He was also a close friend of future Boston Celtics pick Romeo Langford.
