UConn Coach Hurley Calls Defense 'A Joke' After Loss

UConn head coach Dan Hurley was critical of his team's defense after the Huskies lost 91-84 to unranked Creighton on Wednesday, calling it 'a joke' and 'dreadful.'

Despite freshman Braylon Mullins scoring a game-high 25 points despite an injury that kept him out of part of the second half, UConn couldn't overcome poor defensive effort in the loss. Coach Dan Hurley was blunt in his assessment, stating 'the defense has been a joke' and pointing to bad individual defense as the main issue. Creighton controlled the tempo with 45 first-half points, and UConn's schedule doesn't get easier with upcoming games against Villanova and St. John's, the number two and three teams in the Big East.
