Zundell Makes History with Sub-4 Minute Mile

Syracuse sophomore Drew Zundell became only the third runner from West Virginia to record a sub-four minute mile, crossing the finish line in 3:59.04 at a Boston meet.

Zundell, a former University High School state champion, achieved the milestone while former Syracuse coach Chris Fox looked on. Fox, one of the other two West Virginians to break the four-minute barrier, witnessed what Zundell called a 'full-circle moment' representing both the state and Syracuse's running program.

The sophomore, who previously ran 4:03 at Cornell earlier this season, has two more years to add to his Syracuse legacy.
