Cambridge United midfielder George Hoddle has undergone knee surgery and is expected to be out for two months.
The 20-year-old limped off after 42 minutes in the 3-0 win away to Crawley Town earlier this month.
Hoddle has made 22 appearances this season, either side of a loan spell with non-league Bedford Town.
A club statement read: "It's been confirmed that George Hoddle has undergone knee surgery and will be out of action for the next couple of months."
He signed a new contract in January to run until the end of the 2027-28 season.
