Golf fans worldwide have been eagerly anticipating Tiger Woods’ return to competition.
The 15-time major champion has not competed in any event since he ruptured his Achilles last March.
Prior to his injury, he had played in three TGL fixtures and all four major championships in the previous 12 months.
Now, having made public appearances at the Hero World Challenge and the Genesis Invitational recently, many expected Woods to return to action imminently.
Some suggested that he could play in Jupiter Links’ final two matches of the TGL season, but that seems unlikely after a telling social media post.
Tiger Woods expected to miss TGL match vs Rory McIlroy
Woods’ Jupiter Links are set to play against Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common on Sunday and The Bay Golf Club on Tuesday.
These fixtures would have presented Woods with an ideal opportunity to return in a less strenuous event than a four-day tournament.
He had also not ruled out playing in the latter stages of the TGL season when asked about his comeback late last year.
However, unfortunately, fans can effectively give up hope of watching Woods at the SoFi Center after Jupiter Links’ Instagram post before Sunday’s match.

They have not yet posted about Tuesday’s match, but why would Tiger rather play then than against McIlroy on Sunday?
He must not be ready, so fans will have to stay patient for a while longer.
Tiger Woods could return at The Masters
The attention now turns to Woods’ potential comeback at Augusta National in April.
Tiger refused to rule out his participation in The Masters when the question was put to him at The Genesis.
If he were to play, it would add another incredible narrative to an already-storied event following McIlroy’s victory last season.
Even if Woods misses the cut, most golf fans would sign up to watch him play two more rounds at the most iconic course on the planet.
