The New Orleans Saints have a decision to make regarding defensive back Ugo Amadi, an impending unrestricted free agent who has been with the team for the past three seasons.
The 28-year-old played just one defensive snap and 96 special teams snaps in 2025, despite signing a one-year deal with New Orleans in the offseason. Amadi recorded 65 total tackles (52 solo), seven passes broken up, four tackles for loss and two sacks in 2024, along with 12 total tackles (six solo) and two passes deflected in 2023.
At five-foot-nine, 201 pounds, Amadi has served primarily as a depth piece for the Saints. His versatility—able to play the star role, outside corner, safety, and contribute on special teams—has helped him remain on the roster. However, with his reduced role this past season, it’s unclear where he fits in the current lineup.
Bringing him back for training camp or even adding him to the practice squad after roster cutdowns would make sense, but beyond that, there doesn’t appear to be a long-term future for Amadi in New Orleans.
So, the question remains—should the Saints re-sign Ugo Amadi?
