Watch: Notre Dame basketball signee with the ‘Dunk of the Day’

Notre Dame men’s basketball is coming off a Senior Day victory over NC State, which was led by some of its young stars.

That trend could continue into next season, as the Irish signed a solid class of three. The highest ranked signee is Jonathan Sanderson, whose father is currently the strength and conditioning coach for Notre Dame. He earned his scholarship by merit, not the family connection, as the 6-foot, 2-inch and 170-pounder is ranked as the No. 71 overall player by the 247Sports Composite.

On Saturday, Sanderson threw down an impressive dunk, as his La Lumiere team defeated No. 1 Spire Academy. You can see the highlights below, as the jam is clearly the most impressive part of the package. Sanderson beats his defender past midcourt, shows elite speed to get to the line, and bounce to finish off the breakaway.

Recruits like him typically don’t sit on the bench during their freshman seasons, so expect to see Sanderson in come compacity on the court for Notre Dame next season.
