Studio host Karl Stefanovic attempted to cover for Mason, suggesting that cold weather could affect speech. Mason took full responsibility, stating "I want to take full responsibility, it's not the standard I set myself." Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also expressed support for Mason, saying "I'm pro Danika. Good on her" and suggesting the time difference might have been a factor.
