Colorado traded a 2027 5th‑round pick to Nashville for 27‑year‑old defenseman Nick Blankenburg ahead of the NHL deadline.

The Colorado Avalanche acquired right‑handed defenseman Nick Blankenburg from the Nashville Predators in a trade that sent a 2027 5th‑round draft pick to Nashville. The move comes less than 48 hours before the NHL trade deadline.

Blankenburg, 27, has posted 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists) in 49 games for Nashville this season and will serve as depth for Colorado’s defensive corps. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
