Legendary football coach Lou Holtz, who died at 89, was equally passionate about golf, winning member-member at Augusta National and hosting a SiriusXM golf show.

Lou Holtz, the legendary football coach who passed away at age 89, had a lifelong passion for golf that ran nearly as deep as his coaching career. A single-digit handicapper, Holtz won the member-member championship at Augusta National in 2005, which he called his "greatest accomplishment," and hosted SiriusXM's "Holtz in One" radio show.

p>Beyond his golf achievements, Holtz developed friendships with notable players including Lee Trevino and shared memorable stories, like the time Jack Nicklaus won the 1986 Masters and replaced him on the Sports Illustrated cover. Golf became his guilty pleasure after being hired as golf coach at William & Mary in 1962 to supplement his $300 salary, despite initially not knowing how to keep score.
