Jones Set for White House UFC Event

Jon Jones appears set to headline the UFC's White House event card against Alex Pereira, defying earlier skepticism from Dana White.

Dana White previously gave 'billion-to-one' odds of Jones appearing on the White House card, which is billed as a 250-year-anniversary celebration of American independence. Jones had retired and unretired, and had reneged on a verbal agreement to unify the heavyweight title against Tom Aspinall.

Pereira vacated the light heavyweight title this past weekend, and the fight could be for the interim heavyweight title given Aspinall's uncertain return status. Jones is currently negotiating the deal, which comes after the Brazilian champion made sacrifices to make history.
