Philon's late jumper lifts No. 17 Alabama past No. 22 Tennessee

Labaron Philon Jr. hit a decisive jumper with 22.8 seconds remaining to secure a 71-69 victory for No. 17 Alabama over No. 22 Tennessee in SEC play.

Latrell Wrightsell led the Crimson Tide with 25 points, while Philon Jr. added 23 points off the bench, including 15 in the second half. Aden Holloway contributed 12 points. Tennessee, led by Ja’Kobi Gillespie’s 26 points and eight steals, fell to 4-4 in the SEC after blowing a double-digit lead.

Freshman Nate Ament suffered a right knee injury in the first half and did not return. Alabama hosts Georgia on Tuesday, while Tennessee visits South Carolina.
