Adam Schefter reports that Seattle Seahawks wide‑receiver Rashid Shaheed is not close to an extension and will enter the free‑agent market on Monday. The 22‑year‑old, who was acquired from the New Orleans Saints in a trade that gave the Saints fourth‑ and fifth‑round picks, was eligible for a contract extension to keep him from the open market.
Shaheed, who played in Super Bowl LX, is expected to test free agency after the Seahawks likely will be outbid by other teams. The report comes as several other Seahawks players, including Kenneth Walker and Boye Mafe, are also rumored to be heading to the open market.
