Sullivan progressing well, may return for Mississippi State

Mississippi State baseball starting first baseman Noah Sullivan is progressing well from a back injury and could return to the lineup against Delaware after taking batting practice for the first time.

Mississippi State baseball coach Brian O'Connor provided a positive update on Noah Sullivan's back injury, noting that the designated hitter took batting practice for the first time and felt really good. Sullivan has missed three straight games but could return to the lineup for Game 2 against Delaware if he experiences no lingering effects.

Meanwhile, Reed Stallman returned to the lineup, starting at first base and going 1-for-4 with a run, a walk, and three strikeouts. Sullivan, a preseason All-SEC first team selection, has only played in two games this season, sitting out the opener due to a suspension after getting ejected from the 2025 Tallahassee Regional final against Florida State.
