MSU football locks in official visit with highly-coveted Maryland ATH

A highly-coveted athlete from Maryland has locked in an official visit to Michigan State in early June.

Cain Van Norden of District Heights, Md. has scheduled an official visit to Michigan State for early June. According to a post from his social media X account, he will visit Michigan State on June 5.

Van Norden is listed as an unranked and unrated athlete in the 2027 class. He plays for Bishop McNamara High, and is listed at 6-foot-8 and 265 pounds.

Michigan State extended an offer to Van Norden earlier this month, and is one of nearly 20 schools to offer him, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Maryland, Syracuse, Nebraska, Georgia, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Memphis, USF, Georgia State, Temple, Delaware, James Madison, UConn and UMass.

According to 247Sports, Michigan State is one of three schools to already lock in official visits for Van Norden. He will also visit Syracuse (May 29) and Maryland (June 19).
