Cowboys Offer Aubrey Highest-Paid Kicker Deal

Dallas Cowboys have offered kicker Brandon Aubrey a contract that would make him the NFL's highest-paid kicker, but he is seeking significantly more.

The Dallas Cowboys have offered kicker Brandon Aubrey a multi-year deal valued at close to $7.5 million per season, which would make him the NFL's highest-paid kicker. However, Aubrey is seeking closer to $10 million per year, a contract that would dramatically reset the market for kickers in the NFL. Current highest-paid kicker Harrison Butker makes $6.4 million per year with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Aubrey has significant leverage as a one-of-a-kind weapon who has been virtually automatic from 50-plus yards throughout his career. He has been named All-Pro in each of his three NFL seasons and holds the record for most career made kicks of 60 yards or more. The negotiations have been described as a "journey" by Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones, and if no agreement is reached, the Cowboys are expected to place a second-round tender on Aubrey valued at roughly $5.8 million.
