The Commodores became the sixth team ever to sweep the major SEC awards. Vanderbilt (27-3) set school records for regular-season and conference wins, finished tied for second in the SEC, and earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Blakes led the country in scoring with 27.1 points per game and became the first player since 2000 to average more than 30 points in SEC games.
Both Blakes and Galvan credited their teammates for their awards. 'It's not just an individual award,' Blakes said. 'It goes to the whole team as well.' Despite returning only one starter, Vanderbilt is a projected No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
